Universal Music Ireland Also Faces Leadership Change

By Gospel Music Ireland | 15 October 2026

The leadership transition announced as part of Universal Music Group’s latest changes will also be felt in Ireland. Mark Crossingham is stepping down as Managing Director of Universal Music Ireland after three decades with the company. Longtime colleague Nick Younger will succeed him.

The appointment marks a significant change at one of Ireland’s most influential recorded music businesses. For Irish artists, independent labels and music organisations, it raises questions about Universal’s future approach to domestic artist development, international partnerships and specialist music genres.

UMG has not confirmed that the Irish leadership change is directly connected to changes in its Christian and Gospel operations. The two developments should therefore be viewed separately unless the company provides further information.

Gospel Music Ireland will follow any further announcements and what the transition may mean for artists and the wider Irish music industry.
